Susan Coughlan
I’m a mentor, coach, facilitator and organisational change practitioner offering life coaching, leadership coaching and team coaching for artists and arts leaders. In my coaching, I draw on 35+ years of practical experience in the arts and culture sector across multiple roles – producer, funder, policymaker, collaborator, creator, strategist, and change-maker in community, contextual and professional arts contexts. The focus of my work is supporting meaningful change whether it be role transitions, creative challenges, relationship or organisational issues or something else.
I bring an outsider’s perspective to my coaching, shaped by my diverse background growing up bicultural in a rural Protestant farming community in Cork, with an Australian mother and Irish father. I am in a neurodivergent marriage and a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
My strength is meeting people where they are and my coaching style is person-centred and warm, emphasising presence and connection. I draw on methodologies from organisational change, gestalt, improvisation, mindfulness and embodiment. Enneagram coaching is at the core of my approach because it’s the most powerful resource for self-awareness that I’ve encountered. I support you to pause, see the bigger picture, tune into your innate sense of aliveness and strengths, and to identify which patterns are helping you to meet your potential, and which may be blocking you. Throughout, you’ll be establishing practical strategies and resources for continuing personal and professional growth, and this process will support your capacity to artfully navigate change.
